DEEP LEARNING FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

Ministry of Science and Innovation

september 2022- september 2025.

In collaboration with CAOS and LSI research teams.

The global objective of the project is the application of novel Artificial Intelligence techniques and algorithms to Electric Autonomous Vehicles and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
For a successful application, several disciplines must be studied, among others: AI trust and
explainability, sensorial information analysis, energetic optimization, fleet management. The systems this project aims to develop involve the use and research of several technologies (electrical, control, artificial intelligence, sensors, and instrumentation) and, therefore, a multidisciplinary group is needed. Therefore, the research team belongs to different research areas: Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering and Automation, so all the disciplines previously mentioned are addressed.
Together, the UC3M groups form an interdisciplinary team covering computer vision and active sensor-based perception, artificial intelligence, vehicle energy efficiency and electrical technologies. Therefore, the synergies of working together under this proposal are very appealing in avoiding duplicate work and combining their technologies and expertise in the daily work to come up with more advanced prototypes.
